Stylish Gold Chains For Men And Women

Chains are simple pieces of jewelry that may be used by men and women, gold is also one of the most durable type of jewelry metal anyone can use. Some gold chains for men may be used by women and vice versa, while there are other types of chains that will mostly fit either a man or woman.

Women can use virtually any type of jewelry most of the time, while men on the other hand have a narrower selection of the specific type of jewelries they can use or wear. While a woman can combine different types of metals, colors and gemstones as jewelry, the general rule of thumb for selecting a jewelry piece as a man, is to look for a jewelry item that is made with a white metal (like silver) or gold, with some minimal intricate/ornamental design or gemstones.

To get some quality piece of gold chain, each jewelry user will need to know the amount of gold in the gold chain he/she may be interested in. Gold is generally measured in karats and is usually mixed in parts with some metal alloys too to make it more durable. For an example 18K gold is made up of 18 parts in gold and 6 parts of some other metals, while 24K is pure gold. The more karat of gold in a gold chain the more valuable the chain will be.

Some jewelry chain styles include the anchor, box, curb, figaro, herringbone, rope and trace styles, most of these styles can be used with all types of gold chains for women. The curb, figaro or rope styles will work with men chains. Some other types of chains for both genders includesterling silver chains, platinum chains, titanium chains etc. A more elaborate version of a chain is a necklace and jewelry users can actually get some type of gold necklace for men too.

Some other variants of gold chains include white gold, rose gold and green gold jewelry chains for men and women. Pure gold is yellowish in color, when it is mixed with other metals its color may change. Mixing gold with enough quantity of a white metal like platinum will turn it to white gold, gold mixed with copper produces rose gold, and gold with silver produces green gold. Each one of these will provide each jewelry user with more options for selecting a gold chain.
